City Government
The City of Dickinson operates under the Mayor-Council form of government. Under this system, the City Council appoints a City Administrator who acts as the chief administrative officer of the city government.

City Administrator Responsibilities
The City Administrator is responsible for the daily administration of the City.  This includes preparation and submission of an annual budget in conjunction with the Mayor to be adopted by the City Council and administration of the budget throughout the Fiscal Year.  The City Administrator works with the Mayor, City Council, and City Staff to develop and implement policies and regulations.  
Biographical Information
Julie M. Robinson is the City Administrator of the City of Dickinson and was appointed to that position in March of 2007. As Chief Administrative and Executive Officer for the City of Dickinson, Julie is responsible for the daily operations of the City. She has oversight of 78 full-time and 45 part-time employees, a total combined budget for FY 2013-2014 of $16.6 million, and a General Fund budget of $12.3 million. 

Julie began her career in municipal government with the City of Plano in July of 1995 when selected as a Legal Assistant in the City Attorney's Office and was later appointed Assistant to the City Manager in August of 1999. Julie was the selected as City Manager for the City of Oak Point, Texas in April of 2003 where she served for four years until she was recruited to the City of Dickinson.

Julie holds a Master's Degree in Public Administration and a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science from the University of North Texas. She is active in and a past board member of the Texas City Management Association (TCMA), is a Past President of the Region 6 City Managers group, and is a member of the International City/County Management Association (ICMA) and the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC). Julie also serves as Vice President of the Texas Coalition for Affordable Power (TCAP).

Outside the realm of City management, Julie is involved in several civic organizations. She is an active member and Paul Harris Fellow of the Dickinson Rotary Club, Chairman of the Premium Seating Committee of the Houston Livestock Show & RodeoTM, an advisory Board Member for M.I. Lewis Social Service Center in Dickinson, and volunteer for the Houston Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure®.
