Community Development

The Community Development Department helps guide the development process from start to finish, with the goal of protecting the health and safety of each resident within the City of Dickinson. Ensuring that Dickinson's unique character is protected while introducing quality new land development is the Community Development departments utmost priority. The department assists policymakers, property owners, developers, and citizens in regard to growth and new development and preserving and improving existing developments.

 Department Divisions

The Community Development Department is organized into two (2) divisions:

Community Development is responsible for the development opportunities for the citizens of Dickinson. The department leads economic growth and development policies through annexation, amendments to the future land use map, updating the Zoning Code, permitting and processing of development applications and continuing to improve the efficiency of the one-stop-shop process.


Board & Commission Review

 

The Department also coordinates inter-departmental review of plans and programs and prepares staff reports, agendas and minutes for the following advisory Commissions/Board to the City Council:
