Each year, usually in October, there is a nation-wide National Night Out event in which citizens come together in friendship and to unite in a common cause to better improve the safety of their neighborhood. The Dickinson Police Department along with members from the Dickinson City mayors office and City Council, the Dickinson Volunteer Fire Department, EMS service, the Dickinson Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association and the Citizens On Patrol move throughout the city visiting all scheduled neighborhood events. For many citizens, it is the only time they will meet these officials and have an opportunity to talk with them and share their concerns and successes the city has experienced.
Planning to Participate
All neighborhoods planning to participate in National Night Out are encouraged to contact the Dickinson Police Department (281-337-6312) and register their neighborhood event with Terri Rogers, secretary to Chief Ron Morales. A master list of all participating neighborhoods is developed and members of the city government and support organizations will be assigned.
