The DYAC’s mission is to build a culture of active citizenship within our local community through pillars of service-learning, action civics, and youth-led advising to provide robust representation for the youth of Dickinson. The students selected will serve on the council through the duration of their high school years, with terms expiring upon graduation.

At the February 14th City Council meeting, Council approved a $602,000 annual contract with Waller County Construction out of Hempstead to repave over 185,000 square feet of roadways throughout the City. The City has also reallocated additional funding just shy of $365,000 to allow for more areas of the City to be included in the roads being paved this fiscal year.
The City of Dickinson was awarded a housing contract from the Texas General Land Office to address housing issues from Hurricane Harvey. The primary focus of the housing recovery program is to provide relief for survivors affected by an event while complying with all CDBG-DR requirements and addressing recognized impediments to fair housing choice as required under the Fair Housing Act.
