On July 24, 2006, after 2 p.m., the Days Inn Motel in Dickinson was robbed at gunpoint. A review of the video shows a bright red SUV, 2000 to 2001 make, possibly a Chevy Blazer, with stock wheels and a luggage rack, pull through the lot. It circles and exits, but stops briefly in front of the office. Very shortly after, a male, black, comes up on foot. He enters the office and asks for directions to LaMarque. As the clerk is giving directions, the male black pulls a silver revolver from his waist. The clerk gives him the money from the cash drawer and the male, black, flees on foot. The clerk followed him to the McDonalds right across from the motel. He sees him get into the red SUV that drove through the lot. The driver of the SUV was a male, white. They took off across the McDonalds parking lot and possibly south on IH45. The male, black, is described as 6' to 6'2", 200 to 230 pounds, with a goatee. He was wearing a black ball cap, black t shirt, and jeans. He looked to be in his mid to late 20s.
