2017 General Election


The City Secretary conducts all City of Dickinson elections, and administers them in accordance with the laws of the State of Texas.

In accordance with the Texas Election Code, the City of Dickinson will hold a General Election on May 6, 2017, to elect a:
  • Council Member At Large Position 1
  • Council Member At Large Position 3
  • Council Member At Large Position 5
  • Mayor
The term of office for these positions is three years from May 2017 to May 2020.

Notice is hereby given that applications for a place on the City of Dickinson, Texas, General Election ballot may be filed during the following times to the City Secretary.
  • Start Date: Wednesday, January 18, 2017
  • End Date: Friday, February 17, 2017
  • End Date Write-In Candidate: Tuesday, February 21, 2017

Notice is hereby given that the polling places listed below will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., on Saturday, May 6, 2017, for voting in a general election to elect the Mayor and Councilmember Positions 1, 3 and 5 for a 3-year term each.
