I believe the City Administrator is doing a great job. Dickinson has been moving forward and our city has enjoyed a period of achievement and progress and the City Administrator has played an integral role in that. I am dismayed that there is a movement under way within City Council to terminate her.

Our demographics are declining because we are not improving our codes and enforcing the codes that are in existence. Removal of automobiles and trash that has accumulated on many properties. Wood fences on residential properties, trash enclosures on commercial properties are falling apart. unapproved signage, streets right of ways are not being mowed and maintained. Street lighting is inadequate in many areas, Excessive speed on many streets and interstate feeder roads. these are but a few of the conditions that cause visitors and those interested in locating to Dickinson question if our ability to grow our community in a positive fashion.
We must clean up and maintain our town before we can grow. Except for a few isolated sections of our town, I doubt anyone would consider making a significant investment in Dickinson. As you drive on any street in your area be concerned about your surroundings and insist that conditions improve.

I believe that our older neighborhoods are at a pivotal moment. I see folks trying to keep the momentum positive. Ways the city could help could be more street improvements, better drainage, sidewalks, more frequent mowing, trimming of trees and encouraging property owners to maintain there responsibilities. I would like to see Dickinson as a quiet quirky residential area. We have the older houses and established neighborhoods to support that, we just need a push in the right direction. With neighborhood improvement comes property value increase and tax revenue. This would also attack those in Houston looking to escape the enter city. People looking for a small town feel. Also, we have enough bars. Adult targeted businesses can creat problems for our law enforcement, first responders and unfortunately innocent bystanders. I would like to see a safe family friendly Dickinson for many more generations.

I have gone to your city meeting and parks were supposed to be built. NOTHING DONE. If the City employees would take the time and drive the neighborhoods and view the streets, lighting in the area, trees hanging over the roads/in the power lines. People who have their pets sitting on vacant lots/ have trash all over their yards, Trash cans over flowing. Houses that are no longer suitable to live in need to be torn down, clean the culverts/ ditches, Vacant lots. this is something that should be on a schedule like you mow your yard when the grass gets high.. give each city employee in that field an area in which they are to be in charge of and once a month the supervisor is to view the area DRIVE AND LOOK.The Mayor needs to do the same go and view your city.Yes we sidewalks, community centers, pools, parks in all areas of Dickinson. So far excuses after excuses is what I get. Commercial properties need to keep their places clean and parking lots stripped/painted and no potholes.
Thanks,
